It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since September 11, 2001. I will never forget that September day, there was not a cloud in the sky. Going to school, no one knew that day would change all of our lives forever. I remember our teachers turning on the TV and the faces of all of my classmates when we saw the towers fall. I remember my parents coming to pick me up and my Dad standing on a ladder hanging up an American flag outside the house. Soon enough, there were American flags lining the street and “Proud To Be An American” playing on every radio station. There was no greater feeling of pride then knowing how our country had come together to mourn the loss of our fellow Americans. I’ll never forget how that made me feel, and how that all was possible because of the brave actions of our fireman, policemen, military, and civilians willing to risk their lives. I am and always will be proud to be an American, proud to be resilient and strong, and the most proud to be in love with one of the men who fought to keep us safe.
