Today is my birthday. Hard to believe another year has passed. Lots has changed… as things do in a year… and I’m excited to start my twenty four year old life. Starting by heading to the beach, then dinner with a really great friend and her (also really great) boyfriend. Possibly wearing a tulle ball gown, or not. I wish I could pull off a balloon skirt like this lovely lady. I do have the Ban.do bow headband ready to go though!

Can’t believe it’s almost July already, my birthday is on Tuesday! I love that my birthday is the 3rd of July. It means that I will always have off the day after if it falls during the week. If I was having a birthday party, this is what I would do. For some reason I’m really feeling pink today. I won’t be having one this year, but maybe next year I’ll pull out all the stops!

Do you ever just want to have a party? I woke up this morning in the mood to entertain. Sometimes, I just get the fever! At this point, I don’t even care who it’s for… I would throw a strangers birthday party if they let me plan it from start to finish. You can be sure there will be plenty of desserts and drinks, big balloons, and lots and lots of streamers.

Red lipstick is always a favorite of mine this time of year. A lot of woman shy away but I ensure you that red can look good with any skin tone and is always appropriate throughout the holidays. So, want to mirror one of these looks for your party?
Here are my all time favorite red lipsticks. Don’t be afraid to go bold, after all… ’tis the season!

I love the idea of having a shower that celebrates all things girly. If you aren’t having your fiance and his friends attend, I say go all the way. The wedding is about celebrating you and your fiance as a couple, but the shower is about celebrating you! Because I rather enjoy the color pink, I chose to show you pink details that I absolutely love for a shower. Like this frilly dress that I’m head over heels in love with.
Now, onto party details. Pink flowers when done well can be absolutely gorgeous. Mix textures and pink tones and you will have amazing centerpieces that can be a DIY the night before. I promise, it won’t be too hard! One of my favorite drinks is pink lemonade. I can’t even handle how cute it looks in these mason jars with personalized labels and pink striped straws. Also, adding elements like cotton candy or little “poofs” of flowers on cake stands can give the party a really fun atmosphere. Keep in mind if you aren’t a pink fan, all of this can be easily transitioned into a color you love!

My favorite pins from this last week of September. I’m greeting October with open arms this weekend. Fall festivities, cider, pumpkins, and apple pie will be flowing!

I’ve been trying to plan a surprise party for my boyfriend, Andrew, since we first started dating but since he’s the king of ruining surprises I’ve officially given up. I’ve decided that this is actually a good thing because I won’t have to hide my decorating/cooking ideas from him anymore. Today I read a few articles from Martha Stewart’s website and now I really can’t stop thinking about this party! Everything is DIY of course, what else would you expect from Martha?? Me and my brother have always joked about my Mom’s “crazed” party planning. But truth be told everything is always amazing and I’ve always hoped that I could plan parties like she does. This will be my first test of a real party in our new apartment and I couldn’t be more excited. Martha Stewart’s website gives you so many ideas and then free tools to help you with every detail you could imagine. From homemade garland to favors, invitations, themes, and of course desserts. Here are a few of my favorites so far.
