Hope you all had a great weekend! It went a little too quickly for my liking, but don’t they all? Over the weekend I found a lot of gorgeous vintage images and was pinning away, as usual. I started to notice that there are a lot of fabrics, patterns, and silhouettes that are similar to modern dressing. Obviously, today everything is a lot different. Instead of a fur stole for instance, we might wear a fur collar. Check out some of my favorite looks, then vs. now.

First off I’d like to say how happy I am that Pinterest is letting us choose the cover photos for our boards. Mine, after way too long of changing, now looks little somethin’ like this… yay!

Moving on, I couldn’t be happier that it’s Friday. Waking up at 5:20am really knocked me on my arse this week. I’m so ready for a little extra sleep! It’s also Andrew’s birthday on Saturday, so we have lots of fun things planned. I’ve been finding a lot of time to pin on my iPhone… knock on wood the app has been working perfectly… and I’m finding so many blog ideas. It seems like I won’t be able to do two posts a day anymore, so you’ll all get a heavy dose of gorgeous on Fridays!

For some of you, pleats can be very scary at first. I wouldn’t go near a pleat until biting the bullet on a Jason Wu for Target pleated skirt. It’s patiently waiting in my closet for warmer weather but I have a feeling it will be making its debut this weekend. I’ve also been seeing a lot of pleated hi-lo skirts that could be styled a million different ways through the spring and summer. Because I’m not a size zero, two, or four I’ve found they look best with a tucked in tee and a sweater (or a longer, more “boyfriend” style blazer) over. Here are some of the photos that inspired me to bite the bullet.

The best place to get manicures near my house is inside a mall in NJ; weird, I know. I tend to park near Zara (unintentionally) every single time I go there. On Sunday I tweeted “why must I always park near Zara… eyes down, just get to the nail salon” but I didn’t make it. I of course headed in and found the greatest group of products Zara has ever had. Typically I’ll pick up a few pieces and put them back down because I’m totally indecisive. This time, I must have picked up everything in the store and it pained me to put them back. So many hi-lo (mullet) dresses with cute cutouts, sheer button downs, sequined collars, bright pants, and gorgeous sandals!

Alexander McQueen will forever be the most innovative and unique designer in history. No one pushed the limits as much as he did when he was with us. I’m so happy that his spirit is being honored in the collections since his passing. I can’t get enough of this Fall 2012 presentation. The leaves rivaled Burberry’s rain and added such whimsy to the collection.
