I’ve been blown away by all of the print in this years Spring 2013 collections so far. There are definitely stand out designers that pushed the limits and made some gorgeous pieces that will surely be on all of our must have lists. Maybe it’s the cutie son of hers or that she made this “Call Me Maybe” video, but Rebecca Minkoff really can do no wrong in my eyes. Spring 2013 obviously didn’t disappoint. I love the fresh, easy silhouettes paired with a more complex pattern throughout. This first look is killer.

Did you take dance lessons when you were little? I did for about 12 years and although I preferred jazz and tap as I got older, I loved listening to French tapes teaching me to pirouette. What really struck me today when I saw this first image is that when I was little I used to wear that tutu everywhere I possibly could. I loved how it looked when I twirled and I loved how I couldn’t put my hands down because it would get in the way. It’s no wonder why I ended up the way I am today… fashion is always greater than comfort, right?! So how do you channel that inner ballerina now? At five or six years old it was perfectly acceptable for me to run around the grocery store in my pretty pink tutu, but how does the 24 year oldĀ me pull that off? Leave it to Catherine Sheppard of The Life Styled to show us all. It may be feathers v. the traditional tulle but it totally serves my fashion purposes. If I were her I’d be wearing that baby everywhere!

Harper’s Bazaar, I freakin’ love you. You’re extremely well curated fifty four images of couture street style are making me swoon. Don’t get me wrong, my eyes were glued to many a show coming from Milan, Sao Paulo, and Paris this season but for me street style is what I’m always waiting for. How to actually make it work in real life. Runway to sidewalk, on different body shapes (oh who am I kidding, 99% of them are models), Harper’s Bazaar documents it best.

First off I’d like to say how happy I am that Pinterest is letting us choose the cover photos for our boards. Mine, after way too long of changing, now looks little somethin’ like this… yay!

Moving on, I couldn’t be happier that it’s Friday. Waking up at 5:20am really knocked me on my arse this week. I’m so ready for a little extra sleep! It’s also Andrew’s birthday on Saturday, so we have lots of fun things planned. I’ve been finding a lot of time to pin on my iPhone… knock on wood the app has been working perfectly… and I’m finding so many blog ideas. It seems like I won’t be able to do two posts a day anymore, so you’ll all get a heavy dose of gorgeous on Fridays!

This post pretty much speaks for itself. I love polka dots, especially for the spring. Whether a traditional white and black polka dot, or mixed with pastels, it’s just the perfect amount of cute for any outfit!

Mint is officially everywhere. My nails are mint and I have my eye on this mint watch but I’m also obsessed with mint pants, skirts, and blouses. Really, you can pair mint with almost anything. A floral print, leopard print, denim, or just simple color blocking… it works.

Spring is right around the corner. As soon as the J. Crew March catalog comes out I’m officially in Spring mode. This years is probably the best J. Crew catalog I’ve ever seen. Tons of bright colors and bold prints, perfect in every way. If you can keep it to just five items to purchase for spring, these have got to be them.

1: No. 2 Pencil Skirt.

Iconic and easy to wear, a pencil skirt looks good on any shape or size. I love the texture of this lace and navy (or red) is so great for spring. It’s perfect paired with a light sweater, striped tee, or gingham button down.

2: Scalloped Shorts.

Do I need to explain why you need these shorts? I love the scallop detail added to this super casual look. Plus, they aren’t too short to wear to any and every occasion.

3: Sun Kissed Trouser.

This might be the best yellow I have seen so far this season. Tailored perfectly and hitting at just the right spot on the ankle, these are ideal for brunch.

4: Shirred Maxi.

Who doesn’t like maxis? This one has just the right thickness and just the right amount of volume. You can see it paired perfectly with a coral button down tied at the waist on the cover of the March catalog.

5: Double Strand Resin Necklace.

To be honest I don’t usually splurge on jewelry but this is necessary for spring and summer. I always love double strand necklaces but this one is a whole new obsession. Great color pairing and perfect length!

You’ve all heard me talk endlessly about the Jason Wu line for Target. Since I’ve been talking about him so much, and following all of the excitement on Twitter, I couldn’t wait to see his actual Fall 2012 presentation. You all know how I feel about olive green and black, obviously this collection had me excited. Here are my favorite looks.

Will the queen of black and gray wear more then one bright color in one sitting? Absolutely not. Who do you think I am? Brad Goreski is always talking about adding a “P.O.C.” (pop of color) to an outfit. Thank goodness… one, and only one, bright color per outfit! Here are some examples of a “P.O.C.” Glitter & Gold style. Looks that are still anchored in black, gray, navy, and camel with a Brad approved pop of a single bright color.
