Happy Wedding Wednesday! I love taking home favors at the end of a wedding, but I find that it usually ends up lost or stuck in a drawer somewhere with other trinkets. The ideal wedding favor would be something useful or something edible. I always think that honey is a great idea, or hot chocolate for a winter wedding, or pie in a jar for a casual outdoor wedding. There are so many options to choose from, but here are some of my favorites. I love the idea of giving a peach, especially if your wedding is in the summer in Georgia (or you and your groom have a particular connection to the state).

We are 1 today! I can’t believe it! Here is a quick year in review:
April 2011- The Royal Wedding
The best day of my life. I actually took off of work for this and woke up at 4:30am. I was sitting on the couch later in the afternoon watching replay after replay when Andrew called me. I answered the phone “royal wedding headquarters” and I’ve never heard Andrew laugh that hard. It’s a big deal when Andrew thinks I’m funny!
June 2011- currently Coveting
This is when I decided that just posting random things about my life was kind of stupid, and that I wanted to use the blog to focus more on fashion. Although the photos are still terrible, I started using Pinterest to find photos of the style I really wanted to portray. I was also really coming into my own personal style then as a twenty something girl working in the city. This really helped me to do that.
September 2011- All That Glitters
I finally figured out how to link photos together, and decided that I would express my love for sparkle. This post actually got me a decent amount of traffic, I was so surprised that people other than my friends and family were reading Glitter & Gold!
October 2011- Inspired
My first ever inspiration board. Now, I use these a lot more for personal use instead of on the blog but I love that I could find all of the inspiration in a certain color story and put it all together, I’ve done a lot of these over the past year.
December 2011- Weekly Faves
I started doing weekly faves since December and haven’t stopped since. Every Friday, I take my favorite images that I found over the past week and put them all together. Sometimes they are themed but most of the time they are just a collection of beautiful photographs by amazing photographers.
February 2012- I Need An Office
This was my biggest traffic day ever. I was so excited and showing everyone in my family how crazy it was that this many people were looking at my blog. February was by far my highest traffic month, and now March is closing in. I’m so happy that people enjoy what I’m posting, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!

I’ve been growing my hair for a while now in search of the ability to braid it. Right now the layers are just too short to get anything that looks remotely like a braid. There are always little pieces sticking out the side, so for now I’ll just stare at images of other people’s braided hair and will my own to grow faster.

Things were crazy my first five days in a new office with a new role! My desk is all set up now thanks to some seriously pretty office supplies from The Container Store. I love that I don’t have the same supplies as everyone else, bringing your own can really make a cube feel like home (sort of).
I’ve picked up the style of the other people in my office and unfortunately it’s a mixed bag. Seems like half of the girls wear “trendy” clothes, lots of colored jeans and Zara… then the other half wears very “office appropriate” clothes, lots of pencil skirts and heels. I’m going with trendy or else I’d be bored in a week. Like I said last Sunday, I’ve decided to lay everything out for the week to come so yesterday I worked on that for this week. The weather being in the 50s and 60s mean a lot more options to layer. I’m taking inspiration from these lovely ladies this week.

I’ve always loved menswear inspired pieces (ie: “boyfriend blazers”, “boyfriend jeans”, and “boyfriend cardigans”) but it isn’t very often that I fall in love with an actual men’s style. Thank you, Coach, for making it impossible for me to stop obsessing over a men’s weekend bag. Here he is…
{Coach}
If you don’t know the origins of Coach, it actually started as a men’s luxury accessory line in the 40s. Think super swanky executive gifts that would fit perfectly on the set of Mad Men (shave kits, slippers…). The founder of Coach was a huge fan of baseball and manufactured his products using leather that would patina just like a baseball glove. Which means it just gets better with age. This weekend bag is exactly what I need for my new commute. A computer, a pair of flats, my lunch, a binder, and a sweater would fit inside perfectly so it’s a work necessity, wouldn’t you say?

You’ll have to forgive me, it’s my first week at a new job and I spent my entire weekend getting prepared (mentally and physically) for all of the new things happening around here. This week I’ll be MIA, but I can promise that over the weekend I will fully prepare myself and have plenty of posts lined up for the week!
Yesterday, I spent a few hours laying out my outfits for this week. This included accessories and shoes so obviously it took me a while. I’ve decided that going into this I’m going to be as organized as humanly possible. Lunches will be made in advance, tote bag filled with necessities the night before, and all outfits chosen. I’m excited about the prospect of having a clear head when I wake up. I know what I’ll be wearing I just have to throw it on and get into work mode. Yipee!
I hope you all had a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day. I’m half Irish so I love this holiday, it means family comes over and we eat corned beef (I know, totally unnecessary). Then I headed out to an authentic Irish bar complete with men drinking Guinness and eating beef stew while wearing green plastic hats… fantastic! I wore a green silk button down from J. Crew, but now that I think about it, I would have loved to be wearing this…

Happy Friday! This Friday is special for me because it’s my last day as a freelancer/consultant. On Monday I start working “real hours” again for the first time since August. It’s scary, but I’m so ready to get back into the swing of things and have all of the perks of working for a large brand. I’ve had an amazing time freelancing for some fantastic people though, that’s for sure! Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
